So Reagan has had some interesting takes on the religious aspects of Catholic School. She loves it and tells me all about it. I have told most of you this story, but it still cracks me up. I sent Reagan a lunchable pizza to school. When she came home Scott asked her what she had on her pizza. Her answer? "sauce, cheese, pepperoni, and the Holy Spirit." :-) She got the Holy Spirit part from the prayer they say before lunch. It was funny, but it was funnier to watch Scott try and explain what the Holy Spirit was and how you can't eat it to a 4 year old!
Thursday I pick her up from school and we have the same ritual she tells me everything that happened at school that day (even who she sat by). It's pretty much the same every week. Well on Thursday she tells me they went to church, which is strange because her PreK class doesn't, but maybe the teacher got brave. She then tells me that they looked at her throat. I asked her if she went to the nurse or complained that her throat was sore. "No mama." Weird I can't figure out what happened so I ask more questions about looking at her throat. Her final take on what happened was they went to the church and a man looked at her throat with candles. Candles? I ask. "Yes, mama he made a cross with the candles on my throat, but it was ok because he didn't light them." (I guess she would have told him fire wasn't safe):-) I was still pretty confused so I asked Scott and he said this is a pretty common blessing to keep illness away. She cracks me up.
Aw, this is great! When Jane was a baby and we lived in Lexington, KY, that is when I started my first blog - to keep family updated. I had such a blast posting photos, updates, etc. I hope you have as much fun with this. :)
ReplyDeleteReagan is cute! This will be a great treasure for her some day. Keep me updated on your posts!
