A few goings on

Last week was so bad with Grant. He doesn't like change very much and now we are completely in shorts season so all his favorite shorts are not always clean. He just wants to wear his sweat pant shorts and refuses everything else. I spent all week holding him down to dress him and it's not easy to hold down 38lbs of screaming kid while pregnant! He's doing a little better this week. We decided to go with "you wear what mommy picks out or you wear your pj's all day." He's not happy about it, but it's been a bit easier. Reagan also moved up to her new room last week, so we don't know if he's been having problems with that too. I'm hoping it doesn't get worse as we get all the baby stuff out and move it to Reagan's old room...

Next week is Reagan's last week of kindergarten. I'm feeling sad about that. :-(   I can't believe she is going to be a first grader! She's pretty excited about it though.

Next Friday we are leaving for vacation. We are going to Ohio to Michelle's wedding, to Snoopy Land at Kings Island, and the Columbus zoo. The kids are so excited. We are feeling a little exhausted by the thought of it already. :-)

This baby is such a mover. I don't remember Reagan or Grant ever moving this much. Not only does it move randomly all day long, but from about 8pm-midnight every night it's moving non-stop. I hope it slows down before it gets much bigger or I am going to be very uncomfortable toward the end.

Last weekend we had a big sleepover. Two of Reagan's friends (Julia and Lily) and their sisters (Emily and Sophie) that just happen to be Grant's best friends. Everyone thought we were crazy having three 6-year-olds and three 3-year-olds. I have to say it was loud in our house, very loud, but they were not that bad! We had pizza for dinner, decorated sleepover shirts, played volleyball in the backyard, and took a walk. When we were walking around the neighborhood anyone who was outside stopped to look at us like we were a parade. I guess it's not everyday that you see 6 little kids walking down the street. I don't think I was ever meant to have 6 kids or triplets because I would go insane! :-)

Everyone slept well. Grant and Sophie talked for about 15-20 minutes, but went right to sleep after that. Reagan came down and got in our bed at 11pm. She had a fever, but by morning she was fine. On Sunday though Grant woke up with a sore throat and Sophie got a sore on her face. After we took them both to the dr we found out that Grant had strep and Sophie had impetigo from strep. Reagan must have had it, but with no symptoms. I guess that's what happens when you get 6 kids together with all their germs. All in all everything we went well and all the kids had a great time. Grant even let Sophie and Emily sleep the whole night in his room even though they got his room messy. We were surprised and so proud of him.

My silly kids!

Right now Grant is OBSESSED with Candy Land! . He likes other games and will play them, but for the last 2 weeks we have had to play Candy Land every day.

Grant had his field day at school last week and had a great time. They got to throw water balloons which was his favorite part and he couldn't quit talking about it. Reagan's field day is this Friday and she is just as excited. Mostly because of the tug-of-war competition. A tug-of-war between kindergarten classes seems very funny to me so Grant and I are going to go watch it.

I never did get to write this because we were not out yet about the pregnancy... When we told Reagan I was pregnant we showed her the ultrasound picture and she was so excited and went right to school the next day and told her class and her teacher. Well a few days later I come to find out that along with telling them I was having a baby she also told them that "our baby is going to be black." She was very proud and excited to be having a black baby. Come to find out she didn't understand the ultrasound picture and since it was grey/black that was what she thought our baby really looked like. :-)

We have been waiting on the inspections for Reagan's room for a week now. The kids love playing up there, but we can't put anything in the room until it's passed. The kids found the sleeping bags though and they have been playing camping in there. Also if you ask them what their favorite part of the room is both of them will tell you the closet. What the closet? Yes they go in there with toys and sleeping bags and hang out for hours. I don't understand because the room itself is pretty big.

Ultrasound

Last week (Thursday, April 26th) we had our 20 week ultrasound. We were very excited to see the little one again even though I have been feeling it move for weeks. We took Reagan out of school that day so that she could go with us. This was very exciting for her until we got there and they were running 40 minutes behind on their appointments. Then she thought it was boring and we were never going to get out of there. :-)

When we finally got back there the tech spent about 30 minutes looking over the baby's body. We kept telling Reagan what everything was, but she was most interested in the head because she said it looked like a bowling ball. I drank some tea while we were waiting and the baby was wiggling all over. It's little hands were going crazy and it kept jumping with its legs. Scott liked that because he hasn't gotten to feel it yet even though it moves ALL the time. I think it definitely moves more than Reagan or Grant did. This baby is laying completely across my stomach also, with it's head right behind my belly button.

After that 30 minutes she spent another 30 minutes looking at a heart echo. We have to do this since Grant has a heart defect. They sent a report to my doctor, which we went to right after. The doctor said that they could not see all 4 chambers of the heart on the echo or some of the brain structures. We have to go back for another ultrasound in 4 weeks so that they can get better pictures. Our doctor told us not to worry that these things are very hard to see at 20 weeks. At least we get to see him/her again!

No we didn't find out the sex of the baby and that is why I have to keep calling it "it". Scott wanted to know, but decided to let me have my way since he didn't have a compelling argument as to why we needed to find out. Reagan was disappointed because she wanted to know. Her and Grant are wanting a boy so bad, but I figure once the baby is here boy or girl they are going to be too excited to care.
