So now to my gripes for the week. I am so sick of people saying they didn't think Grant needed speech or occupational therapy or even intervention at all. Really, he could just start talking one day? Maybe, but why let him be behind his peers if the therapy is available? There is no way you could not notice the huge increase in language he has or his attitude in general. Not being able to communicate your wants or even your needs can be hard even if you are only 2! Even if you don't agree it is needed, you have to agree that it doesn't hurt him. I am just trying to be the best parent I can be to my child. It may not be what you would do, but maybe I wouldn't agree with that either. Would you like me to voice what I disagree about with your parenting? PLEASE JUST KEEP IT TO YOURSELF!!!

Easter
There were plenty of Easter activities that we took part in this week. We went to an egg hunt at Grant's preschool and came home with a ton of eggs. Then we had an egg hunt at the park with our mom's group. Grant loves the slide.
Grant's friend Sophie was there and they can be soooo cute.
And we came home with a ton of eggs.
Then we went to a birthday party at Reagan's friend Kenzie's house. This was a birthday party/egg hunt. There were lots of sweets and they ran all over the place. Grant crashed when we got home.
Then we colored eggs at our house.
On Easter Sunday we went to Ann's house for dinner. There was an egg hunt there with over 200 eggs filled with change. Reagan banked a little over $4.
So not only did we have these egg hunts, but Reagan had one at church and and they both had one at their preschools. So now I have a ton of eggs ready to be filled next year!

Our enjoyable week
Last Sunday it was sooo warm that we went to Walmart and got the kids a little pool for the back yard.
Of course Grant had to get a new ball for outside because the inside balls can't get dirty. We inadvertently bought a HUGE one.
Grant loved it except when the wind would blow it out of the pool. It was like he thought it had a mind of it's own. Then Reagan would have to go get it for him. :-)
On Monday Grant had his Occupational Therapy appointment. They always come out to talk to me afterward and asked me if I noticed how Grant runs. I said yes, don't all 2 year olds run funny? She said they need to keep an eye on it. So we will see how that goes.
Then on Tuesday Reagan lost her second tooth. I saw that it was about to fall out. I reached out to wiggle it and she jumped back pulling it out. She didn't feel it come out and didn't know I had pulled it till she found it on her tongue. Knowing that it was about to come out I ordered her some dinosaurs that she wanted. There were not going to be delivered until Wednesday though so we left her $5 from the Tooth Fairy and told her that Daddy would go to the store while he was at work and look for the dinosaurs, but she would have to give him her money. She was happy with that so Scott and Grant rushed home after swim class while I stayed back with Reagan. He got the package off the porch and opened it so she wouldn't know. Needless to say she was happy and none the wiser.
Grant is still not sleeping at school and is driving them crazy. They had to put him in a little side room all by himself because he won't be quiet while his friends are sleeping. So on those nights he crashes into bed at 6:30pm. His teachers said that he is great with all his friends at school and not too much of a problem otherwise.
Friday is was rainy so we stayed around the house and had a movie day. It was just nice to be able to sit around the house since we have been so busy lately.
Today (Saturday) Scott and I ran a 5K. We had to be downtown by 7:30am to register and the race started at 8am. The weather was so yucky. It was about 50 degrees, windy and sprinkling on and off. We didn't do as well as our last 5K, but at least we did it right? :-) It was really hard to keep running when the wind is blowing at you so hard. Afterward we took the kids to an Easter egg hunt at the church where Grant's Mother's Day Out program is. When we pulled up he kept saying "my school, my school." They had it inside, but the weather must have kept most of the kids away. When we were leaving Grant was whining because he had so many eggs that they kept falling out of his basket. He was even able to be picky and only pick up the eggs with patterns on them that he liked. Reagan got to see her friend Brian there and that made her even happier than just an egg hunt did.
So we had a great week. The weather is suppose to be a lot better this week with temperatures in the 70's so we will be trying to do a lot of outside stuff.

Fire Station and Party
Well I slacked off last week posting since we have had a nasty cold going around our house. I don't know if it's fortunate or unfortunate but we just got it straight in a row; Grant, Reagan, Mommy, and now Daddy. When you have it for a day or two you feel like you've been hit by a truck. Grant is also getting 2 of his two year molars in. Fun times at our house!
Wednesday this week we got to visit our local fire station. Reagan has been twice before and Grant once. It's a yearly thing our mom's group schedules. Reagan loves it and is always excited. Grant didn't really know what we were talking about. We drive by this fire station every day and he always looks at it. When we pulled in to the parking lot his hands went over his head and he said whoo hoo. It was so cute. He loved it all; seeing the uniforms, the trucks, and even where they sleep. They both got to leave with their own plastic fire hats and coloring books. This is Reagan and her friend Brian. She loves him. :-)
Last night we went to the bookstore. Everyone was excited except Scott of course. Reagan is still into the Berenstain bears books so we were looking with them. She has gotten into the chapter books now and we found a bunch of those. I found 7 books for me and only paid $2.10 for all of them. This was less than one of Reagan's books. Grant likes Berenstain Bears also and picked a few along with an Easter Bunny book.
Today, Saturday, I took Reagan to her friend Annie's birthday party. It was from 2-5pm, which is exactly Grant's nap time so they stayed home. Reagan was running around the yard with no shoes on and even got cake on her forehead. She was so filthy and fell into bed this evening. The temperature today was 91 degrees so the only time she "found" me was when she wanted a drink. :-)
So a week of colds with a few excited things added in. Oh I almost forgot. Grant said "I want snack" in the car today with no prompting. We were so proud. He's cracking us up with what he chooses to use his words for.
